Step 2 : Fill Our Consent Form

Before giving your blood sample, fill up our consent form, which is required as per government rules. The form will be provided to you either at home or in the lab.

Step 3 : Provide Blood Sample

No special preparation is required for the HIV Test. It can be done at anytime. All you need to do is provide a single blood sample. Allow the lab technician to collect your sample from your vein in your arm or wrist. That's it!

What if I am negative?

A negative screening test means that you probably do not have HIV. The virus may not be detectable in the immediate period after infection (between 19-43 days). This is called the window period.

What if the test is Positive?

A single positive test will not be reported as positive. The report will state 'Reactive'. You will be asked to provide another sample on another day, and it will be tested again(if required at another lab). If the second test is also positive, you will be given a report of Positive.

If I was exposed less than 19 to 43 days back, should I wait to get tested?

The test has best chances of detecting HIV as more and more time passes. If you have been very recently exposed, it may be better to wait at least for 2-3 weeks. It is also best to consult a doctor in such cases, before going for a test.
