What diet changes should I make to reduce PCOD

Relatively simple diet changes can help reduce the symptoms of PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disorder). These include eating low glycemic index foods, reducing the quantity of simple sugars and carbs, and saturated fats.

Eat Low Glycemic Index foods

Low glycemic index foods are those which don't increase your blood sugar too much after eating them.

Fruits

Fruits like apples, apricots,cranberries, blueberries and pears are considered to be low glycemic index fruits

Veggies

Carrots, grean peas, onions, lettuce and chickpeas are low glycemic index.

Reduce Saturated Fats

Reduce your intake of butter, ghee, cakes, lard, sausages, bacon and cheese. These are high in saturated fats.

Lipid Profile

A lipid profile can help tell if you are too high on lipids. This group of blood tests measures various fractions of lipids in your blood. Consider this test to evaluate your fat status

Body Weight Reduction

Its surprising but as little as a 5% reduction in your body weight can reduce your symptoms of PCOD.
