Urine test lab report
Routine Urine lab report includes 22 parameters.
Physical Characteristics
These parameters include pH, color, odour, specific gravity and quantity. These parameters are used to assess any gross changes in the urine. For eg, a high specific gravity and low quantity are indicative of dehydration.
Chemical Parameters
These parameters include Leucocyte esterase, nitrites - to check for infection, glucose to check for sugar or diabetes in urine, protein to evaluate for damage to kidneys by hypertension or diabetes, and urobilinogen to check for jaundice
Microscopic Parameters
These parameters include presence of white blood cells, red blood cells and squamous cells
Bacteria
Bacteria cannot be directly evaluated in a routine urine test. Presence of leucocyte esterase, nitrites and increased WBC's are indicators of bacteria
