This group of tests will help us understand why you are experiencing hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea after eating shrimp. The first group of tests includes the Total Immunoglobulin E (IgE) Test, the Allergen-Specific IgE Test, and the Radioallergosorbent Test (RAST)
These tests measure the amount of IgE, which is a type of antibody produced by the body in response to allergens. By measuring the level of IgE in your system, we can determine whether or not you have an allergy to shrimp
The second group of tests includes the Eosinophil Count, the Complete Blood Count (CBC), the Urinalysis, the Skin Prick Test, and the Patch Test. These tests will give us more information about how your body is reacting to the allergen and can help us identify any other underlying causes for your allergic-type symptoms.
