How will these tests help?

To help us understand why you are experiencing shortness of breath, we will be conducting a series of tests. We can group the tests into two categories

The first group of tests will provide us with a broad overview of your health. These tests include a Complete Blood Count (CBC), an Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), a C-Reactive Protein (CRP), a Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test, an Electrolyte Panel, a Liver Function Test, and a Urinalysis

These tests will give us an indication of your overall health and any possible underlying conditions that may be contributing to your struggle with dyspnea. The second group of tests will help us to determine the cause of your difficulty in breathing

These tests include an Arterial Blood Gas Test, a Chest X-Ray, and a Pulmonary Function Test. The Arterial Blood Gas Test will measure the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your blood, which will help us to understand your lung function

The Chest X-Ray will provide us with a visual image of your lungs, allowing us to identify any possible obstructions or abnormalities. Lastly, the Pulmonary Function Test will measure the amount of air that you can inhale and exhale, helping us to determine if there is a restriction in your airways

By conducting these tests, we will have a better understanding of why you are having trouble breathing and will be able to provide you with the best possible care.
